impressionist view of the last three months

I haven't updated in a while. Things got crazy. The biopsy turned out not to bed needed, she doesn't have cancer. Happy New Year. That was the message that we got in the hospital. The nurse said that it was nice to finally give some one some good news over the holidays. I'm glad we were the receivers.

I went to Kingston Jamaica for three weeks in February-March with my Community Practice class at College. It was great. It was no vacation, we worked in Mona Commons, a poor community in Kingston. We did safe sex workshops, HIV awarness, teenage girl groups and a large Fun Day. It was a great time. I learned a lot about Jamaican culture, I had the opportunity to travel afterwards with Marijanna. I climbed Blue Mountain, that's right, I - me, climbed a mountain. It was difficult but well worth it. We travelled down the Rio Grande Valley on a bamboo raft, we climb Scatter Fox Waterfall as well as did a little cave splunking. The trip was well worth it. The other volunteers were... alright. I have a problem with people though, I am very harsh on those who i feel are my equals, fellow students and workers. When they are ignorant to certain issues I get angry and very frustrated so living with 11 other girls for two weeks (they left a week before Marijanna and I) was somewhat unbearable.

I have one more month of living here in this town-house. I am looking forward to moving back home and settling my life back there. I plan to stay there and if possible live there while attending University. My next plan is to either attend York or Trent for International Development Studies. Global social work with cultural sensitivity is my calling. I know it.
